Microsoft Outlook E-Mail
This
industry-leading software gives our employees the ability to instantly
communicate to any Hines office around the globe, or to anyone in the
business community.
High-Speed Internet Access
Recognizing the
growing array of resources on the Internet, we equipped every office with
broadband Internet access, allowing employees to utilize the multitude of
services, products, reference materials and other resources available
electronically.
Operations and Engineering
Database
Our Operations
and Engineering Database provides our on-site operations people electronic
access to a multitude of support tools including manuals, guidelines,
reports, graphs, forms and standards.
Hines Central Resources
Database
This electronic
library places at our employees’ fingertips Human Resources forms and
tools, Risk Management data, Training resources, Payroll forms and
information, Conceptual Construction expertise, company policies and much
more.
Shared Network Drive
In order to
enhance access to documents, the Hines Global Network includes a common
drive on which one can place a document that is to be shared by others
anywhere in the world. Fellow employees can access the document, make
changes and re-file it in the same shared drive. An employee in Barcelona,
for example, can work on a file with a coworker in Houston.
Best Management Practices Database
This program
gathers Best Management Practices from on-site operating personnel
throughout the firm, screens them for value and places them on a database
accessible to all employees. For example, if an Engineering Manager
encounters an unfamiliar issue with a cooling tower operation, he can
reference the Engineering section of the Best Management Practices
Database to research solutions and procedures that have proven successful
in other properties.
Remote Diagnostics Capabilities
The HGN allows
our Information Systems personnel, located in our world headquarters in
Houston, to conduct diagnostics on computer systems in any of our on-site
property operations throughout the world.
Virtual Private Network (VPN)
When our
personnel travel, they can access all the above resources via laptop
computer, a computer in another Hines office or even a non-Hines computer
that has Internet access.
